New home for the Internet Marketing Woman - Small Business, Home Business, All Business

Just got my highly anticipated Stomping the Search Engines 2 package from the folks at StomperNet. In it was the debut issue of The Net Effect, StomperNet’s entry into print media and the 2 DVD package of Stomping the Search Engines 2. As I opened up the zip-pack, a couple things struck me–

  • Surprised that it was only 2 DVDs for the entire course. I remembered getting the original Stomping the Search Engines and that included many, many CDs. Probably just the difference in storage size between the CDs and DVDs.
  • Glad they included a companion sheet that identified the Who’s Who of the StomperNet faculty.

Many on the StomperNet faculty were familiar faces from whom I have learned some very valuable internet marketing strategies. There were Brad and Andy (fondly know as Brandy), the co-founders of StomperNet. There was Don Crowther from whom I took the SMARTs program about a half a year ago. There was the quirky Dave Taylor whom I am sure has forgotten more than I will ever know about blogging. There was Mike Koenings, the online video guru and co-founder of Traffic Geyser. There was Jerry West, not the basketball player, but a really smart internet marketing guy who helped me help a client get back in the Google index - thanks, Jerry! And there was Dan “I-Can-Get-Your-Wedding-Site Back Up On Google” Thies who is pure brilliance when it comes to search engine optimization.

There’s Leslie Rohde who I had the privilege of talking to years ago (and I mean years, folks). You see, I had just purchased his incredible software, Optilink, and couldn’t get it to work properly. There was a phone number for support so I called it. And who answers? You guessed it! The one and only…Leslie Rohde!!!! Well, as you would probably expect, he was able to get my software running in minutes, then for the next half hour we commiserated on this thing called the Internet. I knew then (and certainly know now) this guy was really, really, really smart, and I was getting pure gold from an internet genius. Hmmm, I wonder if Leslie has a Mac (like the rest of the Stompers)? My bet would be no, but…maybe. Then there’s Ed Dale, the lovable Aussie who I simply adored from The Thirty Day Challenge and from whom I’ve learned more internet marketing stuff than anyone else…all in thirty days. Boy, this Stomper faculty is definitely a major Internet brain trust.

But you know what I didn’t see among this sea of jean-clad, Stompernet polo-shirt-wearing Internet marketing brilliance…there were no women, not a single one. Eighteen on the faculty of StomperNet and not a single woman…which made me wonder (pause) “Why?” I know they like women, in fact they love ‘em. Most faculty members have wives and girlfriends with whom they have businesses. They also employ many of their family members, which include women. But not a single woman on the faculty…I wonder why? I have my own theories, but they’re silly. It just seemed striking to me when looking at those eighteen (18) cover guys and not a single cover girl. Which (finally) brings me to the point of this post…

Now there’s finally a place for our fair-haired gender to learn the “ins and outs” of internet marketing - it’s the Secret Women’s Business Network! Created by three brilliant (thanks, Ed Dale, I can’t get that word out of my head) Internet marketers Allison Reynolds (twitter: allisonr), Lisa Hartwell (twitter: LisaHartwell), and Barb Sabathil (twitter: harmonicbarbie), this brand new network aims to reach out to women from all walks of life and all levels of experience, to provide the building blocks and share the knowledge necessary for success. This womens business network promises you won’t be alone; you will be surrounded by like minded women who all want the same thing, to succeed.

Make sure you sign up. You’ll be in good company at the Secret Women’s Business Network…sort of like a StomperNet for Women. Hmmm, why not?
